claire de lune

in it draws and cradles you
into cozy nostalgia
revisiting an all too familiar place
of only slumber and innocence

but from the sleepy nostalgia it wakes you
reminding you of what has become
how you may never go back
the permanency of the present
softer grass on the other side
through the peril it carries you

guiding you through the crowd of emotion
pain sorrow and fear
it then elevates you
up over it all
looking down from above
like a view from the window seat
over the clouds
casting an unseen light on it all
reminding you that no matter how cruel it all may seem
how beautiful it is from above looking down
and it is just that
